A practical ceramic-coating maintenance routine
- Rinse loose dirt first. Removing grit before contact washing reduces the chance of dragging abrasive particles across the paint.
- Use a suitable car shampoo and clean wash media. Avoid harsh household detergents or abrasive products that are not intended for coated automotive paint.
- Work from cleaner areas to dirtier areas. Keep wheel tools separate from the wash mitt or towel used on painted panels.
- Rinse thoroughly and dry safely. Use a clean automotive drying towel or controlled air drying. Do not let mineral-rich water repeatedly evaporate on the paint.
